For the past 2 weeks ,i am facing a lot of embarassments. first i was questioned by a receptionist, "what is your father?",a straight forward answer - a marine engineer.since i joined the computer institute saying my father is a retired person
(really he is )the questioned really bamboozeled me. fearing that they would take back the 500 rupees scholarship if i reveal i am an engineer's son, i started bluffing. my answer was like this " My father helps my mother,a land broker, biochemist ,running clinic in shanmugam road who is retired and staying in house ". shit! what a bad command of the language. then i explained her clearly about my father. still that was unconvincing.
Then i met Mr Mahesh - a technical head DSL who asked " what sort of project are u looking for ?" i took the initiative and explained we want" 20 % hardware ,20 % software and the remaining we can explain to madam" from where the hell the explaining process came i donot know. i was thoroughly humilated but no one recognized this mistake as they carried on with their activity. i felt very bad.
i made my mind to take some positive newyear resolutions which includes not to kill time especially in blogging and not to dream. i am really a great dreamer. i would describe my self as a radioactive dreamer.first i would think of an event in the past then i would connect the people's emotions and reactions to it and then i would assume the role of a super hero ammending the situation. then i would connect all the related events to it and would start dreaming in a chain reaction manner.
the second resolution that i want to take , is to add more intensity & integrity to my character. during the school days i was a person with lots of intensity and instinctiveness.but all of which changed when i joined the college. i became lot more submissive and understated.how can i describe this, is this evolution or degradation? well past is past.
the third resolution would be ,stop watching the television prog.i am watching lots of t.v. prog for quite some time.though they are informative i decided to check them.i successfully stopped watching the t.v. serial called "KOLANGAL".though my family members are still on to it.one of my favourite prog. is the b.b.c. university challenge where 2 teams battle it out for the ultimate quiz glory.
the fourth resolution would be,to increase my interpersonnal skills.i am everybody's nightmare when it comes to conversation.most of the time i would not at all react to other's views , i would quietly turn away or nod , that would be my reaction. i would spend most of my time in analysing what others are thinking and how would they react to the situation rather than responding to their questions. i want to change this attitude not because i have analysed enough, but i want to take the intiative and improve my interpersonnal skills.

my exams

i have my first project review in just 2 days from today.and believe me i have not collected even the basic(major!) materials for the project review. this includes the title.my semester examinations are just over. the first exam was o.k. then i had my self bamboozled with the environmental question paper.then came the antennas which i think, i wrote quite well. the optical and microwave can be put up in the same category and i wrote them moderately (not too bad & not too good).then came the disaster, the final exam which i think, was one of the worst papers i have ever written.to start with the first question was correct and the 2nd was fully wrong. the third was correct while fourth and fifth were partially correct.only 4 two marks were correct.that was my performance in the recently concluded exams.

Today i got my system fixed by the computer service person.the problem was simple and he just ran the windows set up file from the command prompt.all the problems were solved and the only problem that exists now is that the search of the x.p. is not working properly.my project is sill in the sate of dilemma.the project external guide Mr. Mahesh clearly briefed us that we cannot expect any hardware projects,the least we could expect from DSL was an application project based on ASP platform.i am really frightened about how my department is going to react to such a software project.i already made up my mind not to write GATE specifically for the above reason.the cost for quitting the GATE is 6 grands ( Rs.6000) . well the life is getting really harder for me and i have joined a new course on desk top publishing.i hardly find time to be free inspite of having only two working days.the journey to teynampet daily is taking a heavy toll on me.

THE CRASH

The word which i hate the most in english is 'CRASH'.this is because of several reasons.one of which is the windows 98 crash in my system.i still couldnt figure out why my os crashed . i had minor problem while doing a live up date nav( norton anti virus file).the system downloaded 5 out of six files and shut down all by itself while downloading the sixth.the problem started there , the next day when i tried to open the I.E. , error messages filled my desktop and the in evitable happened.even now the crash is not repaired and i'm using my X.P. for the net. can some body please help me out of his situatuion.when i try to login thru my 98 ,blank screen appears with the message " NAV AUTO PROTECT ON, UNABLE TO LOCATE CONFIGUIRING FILES!!"

again we have got this placements in our college . this time i think we have got around three companies visitng our college within a short span of one week. i again hope that i get selected in any of these three corps. first one would be the l and t i presume.

By the way, i had become a regular viewer of the tv channel called discovery travel and living . i was really awe stuck and amazed by the modesty of the man called INDIAN LARRY . he is a great chopper builder . i would call him an ultimate champion. the way he dresses, his belief in god ,his considerations towards his co builders,never say die attitude and meticulous planning had really inspired me.kudos to the great man.

MY TOUR DIARY- KOCHIN
The departure from the central was drama in itself our class sudents (everybody) boarded the allepey express but myself and sundar raman got this crazy idea of ringing to our parents before departure. i call it crazy because , not a single soul was loitering in the plat form.but we settled the difference and ended up in our respective seats wow! the train was so conjested that i thought i would choke to death. fortunately i got a seat near the window.phew! i couldnt open the window ,rain gods were too generous. venket started playing the uno.while i enjoyed the night by peeping out from the speeding train. some of my friends started this game of " FACE PAINTING " . well the after math was pretty hilarious and the poor wash basin had to take in all the colors we reached kochin again damn rains ,no words to describe. but we enjoyed the bus provided to us.then we were accomadated in the hotel called astoria . i still wonder what that name means.then we went around the kochin dock in a ferry. boy! wasnt it breathe taking? i saw a coast gaurd ship(though i have seen some really bigger ships, my father being a marine engg), the whole dock was pretty scenic. my classmates enjoyed to their maximum . we had this competition called ' DANCE TO GET PLACED' ,winner gets placed in a reputed firm .suresh did a good job and got placed.then we went for shopping and i really saw "PAULO COHELO 'S best seller ALCHEMIST " on the shores of kochin.i also visited a perfume store again to my surprise they had " THE COOLWATER " - my favourite perfume. [ hell no ! it is the dubbed indian version ]. after exhuasting myself in kochin ,we visited a temple.the temple was a good 20km from the hotel.so i thought of having a good sleep during the travel.but my friends thought otherwise.it was all calm and quiet till we finished the pooja.after which,during the return journey, my friends wanted to freak out. my god! , i had not slept for over 37 hours still i was made to dance!!!! (first in the ferry and then in the bus ).i planned to dance for an 'EMINEM ' number (quite difficult !). my friends didnt allow that.so i danced for a vijay song.

a day to remember

yes it again happened for the third time on trot.i was screwed at the last moment. out of the eight shortlisted candidates for TVS ELECTRONICS , i was quite confident of clearing the ffffiiinnnaaaallll hurdle . but couldnt . on top it the bloody hr guy says " you need to be little clearer."who cares. yesterday was one of my worst days ,at first i was rudely woken up by the alarm at 4.00 a.m. then i did a bit of polar graphs for my records.when i was in the college, i came to know that i didnt bring my C book from my home for the interview.then i cleared the first round and went for my lunch and got scoldings from my dean TCP( placement) for not attentive enough.( not eager enough to know the results of 1 round). then it was the time for my favourite round the tech round and apps and i had a cakewalk ( but scored just 49 /90 ) .
then came the h.r. interview . i was the most confident fellow of the lot and to my surprise the hr fellow questioned only on my personal background.then ,finally the results where out & it was the time for the inevitable.
then when i wanted to open my blog window(to write the hell out of it!!) there was a problem in my blog so it didnt open ,oh what a day!problems seemed to continue ,the next day was my mod pracs( today , and i scored a lousy 95 /100 for not doing my practicals properly enough)and a mod microwave exam . well i say i quit.give me a break. see you later

one fine day i had a chance to take seminar on professional ethics.guess what every body wore a whose bothered expression in their face. it realy hurted me a lot.well i have to prepare for my univ exams so see u later.

utter waste

finally i was selected for h.r. round in the (not well known!) GDA technologies.guess what happened (as usual) , fell down at the final hurdle.it really hurts me.i waited at the bloody SRI RAM COLLEGE campus for over 14 hours to find out the inevitable. know what ,tommorow i got this company called HEXAWARE for another(sob!)campus interview.as usual un prepared for the test.thats it for now

tightening the noose.

i live in tambaram . there are lots of cattle that could be found on the streets in my place. once i had a chance to see a most bizzare thing in my life!
two calves were tied to a wrecked auto(kailan kadai stuff!) by means of a rope and the most terrifying thing was the rope had a death noose.(one used for the capital punishment - death sentence).a cow approached the two calves and gave milk to one of them. i soon found out that the cow had only one offspring ,the other calf was not its offspring.
the cow thought the other calf could attack its baby so it started pushing the calf.the calf was cornered and the auto tumbled and the noose around the neck tightened .the calf's tounge literally came out and its eyes started to bulge.( O GOD PLEASE SAVE THIS LITTLE FELLOW!!!!!). suddenly a little boy came from no where and freed the calf and loosened the noose.
Phew! that's how close one can get close to death(and then escape!!).
