Windows 98 is a big pain in the ***

Enough is enough. I had lots of trouble after installing the win98.The reason every one tells is that "dude you use the internet on 98 and that 's the reason.....".come on cut the crap.
Well every second month i am afraid that my windows would crash again.Recently my system crashed and I can explain you all that ive did and you cud just figure out how fragile the windows 98 is.Forunately i have dual boot and have not experienced a single crash in the winxp.(probably im not using that os as exensively as the 98).i just installed the BLC ( brian lara cricket - 05 - which was a demo version any way).and i chose not to restart the system and then as usual i uninstalled few other unwanted softwares from my p.c. after which my sister played some songs on the wmp.(windows media player).I turned off the monitor.I was browsing the digit mag and my sister who wntd to study turned off the wmp and shut down the system.Later that night i turned on my p.c. and boom !! the cursor was blinking for a little longer time than it used to load the windows.I smelled a big trouble right away and to my horror my imagination was slowly becoming a reality when i saw the message " Abort disk - Failed/retry" , when i tried to change the drive.Then it was buisness as usual changed the boot priority and then made the windows boot from the cd and ran the set up.But why the hell shud i deal with such a fragile os which tend to loose any one of the three files every 2 months like himem .sys ,config.sys and dgbat.sys. At the begining I used to get frightened as there was not even a clue whthr there was a harddisc crsh or the os crash.Now that , the crash is almost expeced every 2 months i do not bother abt it. Not only in this case , iam experiencing some strange situations with my win 98.The other day i tried to install this game called " the worms" ( or what ever hell does that mean .....).In order for me to run the game in my system my DirectX has to be upgraded.Well i saw that my system was using a Directx 8.1.So i thought i definetly need to have move on from that "stoneage software". First i installed directx 9( not sure whthr it is "b" or "c"). Then i installed the game and then restarted my system.Every thing was fine until the system again took a lot of time to start , i smelled disaster , i wasnt ready for that because i installed the win98 2 days prior to that and there is no way in hell that i am going to sit for another 45 min staring at the blue screen of death.I was very fortunate enough to see the message " WINDOWS IS UPDATING SOME FILES AND IT TAKES FEW SECONDS FOR COMPLETING THE UPDATION". I was very much releived to see that message and suddenly the windows opened without the starting music.Goodness gracious me , my wmp is not playing songs.this time the message was " No Audio Driver Detected". Believe me i was so frustrated that i wanted to remove win 98 from my system right away. i booted my system and loged on to winxp and tried formatting the "C - Drive" which was futile. I tried to calm myself down and again i tried to run the Dxdiag prog that checks for the Directx. To my disbelief DxDiag is not functioning."yes i have found the problem ", i said and then loged on to the web to look for a software which removes DirectX. Fortunately I found a German Software which does the job. I Downloaded that not before trying to load the DirectX8.1 and the Realtek Audio Diver. I busted the Direct X 9 out of my system and then reinstalled the audio driver and the Dx 8.1. and after that every thing seem to fall in the right place.Still I cannot open my Norton Antivirus 2003 which says " A DLL CALLED MSVCP.DLL IS MISSING " and i m not sure whthr my autoprotect is on as i m unable to access the NAV software. But the beauty here is NAV is installed in my win98.Similar is the case with the I.E. 6 which is installed in the sys but i cannot access it. I am really not at all sure what is happening with this win98 and it is similar to the situation " Where a Blind man is walking in the field which has lots of Land mines burried beneath" and can explode any time. I really doubt how Microsoft has become one of the leading Comp. in the world with such a crap which deserves a place in the dust bin for sure. I am eagerly waiting for a new os or an updated version of x.p.( Thinking now , why did i not bought a mac instead of P.C.!!!!!!!)

Loosing Your Identity

This is one form of the latest identity theft that is happening.So after reading this blog please equip yourself against those malicious hackers.Please do not ever give your password on the net to an unknown person or a website.Reasently I came across a lot of persons who lost their passwords.Please login to your mail id with a care.Make sure you read all the messages that are displayed and then authorize it before login on to your respective email ids.This should save any unauthorised persons getting access to your email accounts.There are three main methods of hacking that are followed all over the world.First is the fooling of the server.this is done by forwarding a mail to a mailing address that virtually does n't exsist.followed by your mail id and your password and the victims email id.I am not sure how the above method would yeild results as the mail wud get auomatically rejected as "failure of delivery".Another method which cud be used for hacking is writing an html code which simulates an error in the login screen , but the un aware user gives his username and the password and accidently also approves the message " YOU ARE ABOUT TO GIVE THE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT TO AN UNKNOWN PERSON - CLICK OK or CANCEL".So please do not invite a trouble for yourself as there are already lots and lots of people who've lost their identity.The third method of hacking involves getting a hired gun that is a hacker.Hiring a hacker for cracking the passwords seems so foolish , but the hackers had made it a profession and they draw a good sal for cracking the passwords.I recently had an oppurtunity to view a hacker site who calls himself momo where the hacker first asks a person to give his mail id and then the victims mail id.The hacker asks for a two days time and wud forward the victims mail id along with his/her password for an amount of $50.So lots of clandastine activities are going on the net. So eqip yourself and be prepared for such an assault, as getting the information on the internet is just outsmarting the servers and the databases which holds the info and nothing else.
