The Year that will be - 2008

The other day I was browsing through my earlier blogs just to check what have I done for the past four years. To be frank not much of an improvement. The same stammer in English, but got a bit techie ( Copied the word 'stammer' and pasted in MS Word to check the spelling). I would say the thought process as far as English is concerned has really become a barrier for me to publish the blogs. I am still hoping that some day I can master this beautiful language.

Well after going through my previous blogs , one question that I can ask my self , what have I done meaningfully for the past four years. Completed my Engineering , got me a job ( infarct 2 ) , put on 2years and six months of experience as a mainframe professional, aped some great quizzers and bright minds , humiliated myself by not writing the CAT and GATE, ( skipping CAT hurted me more), grown a belly as big as a tiny pot, skipped Gym sessions regularly, tried to impress many girls and failing, diagnosed with a congenital minor heart irregularity and the list goes on.

Now with lots of comforts ( should I say necessities) N72,3120,Coby,Kingston,Broadband,A DVD Player,3.1 sound system, Credit Cards , Cricket Matches through satellite television life seems to be moving at a cool pace for me. But is this what life really is ? Though I may sound a bit philosophical( Not even logical :) ) , I find that I have really lived and enjoyed my life and I have come to the stage where I can say IT QUITS !! if it is going to be the same for another 2 years.

For 2008 , I think I have some very good plan for the year. Though most of the times I end up failing to reach half of what I have planned, this time, even if I were to achieve half of what I have planned, then it would be a great success for me. First to go , is to improve my language skills .English is the language which I love the most. It would be truly unjust if I am not fluent enough by the next time when I see this blog. I am planning to read,listen,see and assimilate some good stuff to improve my knowledge. I really have some very bad habits my ego, fear of loosing out to an opponent, not acknowledging a genuine good work, pretending to act in a very rapid pace thereby projecting an image as if I am comfortable under extremely hard circumstances and above all - Laziness.

Lets see how things roll out in the near future.And by the way the whole post has to me renamed as a 'A Naked Self Confession rather than My plans for 2008 ', Bye. .

Brisbane here we come !!!

First of all it was a famous victory for India at the Sachin Cricket Groud (SCG) in Sydney in the best of three Commonwealth Bank Series. Second of all we unleashed the world beating Colts at the Kinrara Oval - Malayasia. Last of all we really came to know who won the 'boxing bout' at the SCG !!. Brisbane here we come to get the Silver Ware !!!!!

God! Sunday Nov 18, a day which I will remember for rest of my life, the day when I wasted 6 months of all my hard work,the day when I had to shamelessly bunk the CAT exam, the day when I had to shamelessly hide from my friends, the day when I betrayed all my family's hope. What have I done to deserve this - God!

Tribute to Amabokoboko

The most gruelsome sport on earth. Dislocated shoulders , broken jaws and fractured spine are part and parcel of the game. Rugby did catch my attention. Instead of players , the sides have warriors ( Chabal indeed is one !) and the game looks like no less than a battle. By winning the World Cup Springboks certainly made their nation proud. Go Amabokoboko!

A Fishy Issue

Of late , I have begun to listen lots of Tamil and Hindi songs (not that I do not listen them before !!! ). One thing stands out common through out India - " PEOPLE NEED SOME CHANGE" ( yo ! give them ... ) . The last thing that we need in the Tamil or Hindi film is a copied version of an English Number!! Recently I saw a song from a Tamil Movie called " CHITIRAM PESUTHADI ". This song describes about an imaginary marriage that take place in Sea between Two Fishes. The song had a dangerous combination of Glamour ( Sultry Malavika ), Gana ( South Indianised Rap ) and Gana Ulaganathan - A one finger wonder ( yeek !! not the middle one ). The Result - " An absolue Dynamite ". Every T.V. Channel, every coffee shop, every radio station, every corporate buses play this song. Even some "Film Review Sites" talk more about this song than the film.It is common that we see a song being so popular in Tamil Nadu.... But check out this one is here to stay longer ..... People wake up !!!

WoW "Team India"

The home series against England has been a walk in the park again for "Team India". The team had lots of positive outcomes from the recently concluded series. Powar and Uthappa being the greatest finds. Again the responsibility shown by the youngsters like Srishant and Dhoni are truly remarkable. All these makes "Team India" a Favourite for the The World Cup . The Jubiliant Indian Cricket Team with the TVS one day trophy. . This has been one of the humiliating defeats for the ashes winning England . The injury prone England Team has to blame themselves for this poor performance.

ENGLAND 'S WOO CONTINUES

After the much hyped Ashes victory , England were reduced to mere ashes in a three day match against Board Presidents XI .Let 's wait an see What Andrew Flintoff has in store for India.

Hello every one, there are some events in the world that goes unnoticed. We need to be extremely careful in such situations and must always be alert to look out for the signs. This is exactly what Microsoft is doing right now ?? Well why am I talking crap here? Now coming to the point.

The story unfolds like this.
Time : Morn. Location : SantaClara Valley.

Senior Technical Manager: ...."But that is my decision.."

Steve Balmer: " I can offer a better compensation package than them ".

Senior Technical Manager: " .....The decision is entirely based upon the career prospects andjob enrichment "

Steve Balmer: (Angry) "...I have done this before.I will kill them.I will do it once again.............."(Throws a steel chair at the STM)

Six Months Later

Location : SC valley.

The court verdict : Its up to kai Fuu Lee to decide whther he wants to remain in Microsoft or not.But the joining date for the new job has to be postponed by atleast another six months.


Hey friends we are not reading a novel wake up! So what was the reason for the above two cases .The answer is simple six letter word which is soon going to shake the world and Microsoft out of its top positon.You must have got that by now.Yes its- "google".There is a tremendous attrition rate among the Microsoft employees and where do these people join??The answer is google.With its founders into top 20 places in the forbes 100 and the company increasing its fortunes seven folds every thing is possible for google. Microsoft has prepared the threat list for the year and who stands on top no doubts its -google again.

So what made google so famous.Every body think that google is just a search engine and nothing has come off from google labs except the famous page-rank algorithm. That is an absolute wrong misconception .The headlines every where today is "Abdul Kalam Opposes Google ?" .But why?the reason being their new satellite imaging software called the google earth.Which gives out an almost picture perfect view off the landmarks from the space.The reward which they got from the Indian President - "The Tool Which would help the Terrorists".Moving on to the mergers that they have made it seems that google is soon set to be the king of the net world with the wide variety of products ranging from google maps,google earth,gogle print,google blogger,picasa,flickr,google adds,google talk.........




Again this was what exactly predicted in the Microsoft's Think tank Ten years Ago when one of the executives said that " Microsoft cannot enjoy the leadership by just suppliying the desktops ".Microsoft needs to be there on the net too.But Steve Balmer ignored that and did get a short term success by ignoring the reality.At that time the only threat that Microsoft ever faced was from Netscape which was ultimately bought down by Microsoft.So Microsoft enjoyed the leadership for 10 years and now the same nightmare had started haunting Microsoft in the form of Google.But this time its too stronger for Microsoft and certain reliable sources say that google is bulding a linux supercomputer with which you can boot the system thru phone and internet,So why do you need an operating system installed on your hard drive when its available at the time of booting from the net.If this is going to happen then why do you need an expensive O.S. ????? So its crunch time for Microsoft , Other wise " DAVID IS GOING TO SLAY THE GOLIATH AGAIN !!!!!!"
